attending fashion week, there are always many shows that get lost in your memory, some place deep in your brain where they are most likely to be forgotten forever. but there are a few that stick. one of them for me was Y/PROJECT.
Y/PROJECT is a parisian brand of which glenn martens, a graduate from the royal academy of antwerp, took over the creative direction in 2013.
the show was located in a warehouse - like scenery, I'm somewhere cramped in the second row between pariasian fashionistas, buyers and stylists and don't know what to expect really. but by the time the first model walks out on the runway I completely forget that I'm supposed to film/snapchat/photograph this show. the collection basically consists of everything I ever wanted. if I could only wear one brand for the next year it would be the Y/PROJECT SS17 season. if this is what 2017 fashion looks like then I want 2016 to be over already. the clothes consisted of long velvet dresses, oversized jackets, leather pants, pointy heels, white silk, the perfect hoodies and over dimensional belts. they could be worn by rihanna on stage or by a girl that's still in last night's clothes on her way to get coffee and a baguette. I especially love designers that challenge the classical views of gender rules, where one can't tell wether the clothes were designed for a specific sex.
it was one of my favourite shows from paris fashion week, so I thought I'd share my favourite looks on here - aka my wishlist for next spring/summer.
which do you like best?
